I write all my ideas in the notes section on my Blackberry labeled "Blog Ideas." It's a lot of timeless ideas, so I turn to it when I'm struggling to think of something to write about. Since I'm never too far from my Crackberry, I usually have it with me...although I get most of my ideas when I'm at the gym, and then I think I need to keep the BB out on the treadmill!!

I should do this more often. If I'm on the computer and I get a thought, I'll email it to myself. I rely on email so much that I will have my hubby email me something he just told me! :-)

Thanks for the tips and reminder!

I really try to have a small notebook on me at all times, but if I don't, I end up writing things down on the back of receipts in my wallet and tuck them in so they stick out a bit--that way, when I get home and dump out my receipts, I can find the paper easily and add it to a notes list or notebook.

I also type ideas into the "alarms" on my cell phone so that it rings later in the day (with the necessary text), when I can do something with the idea.

This is a great idea Alison~

Would you believe more for home than anywhere else (for me)

Chasing a tot can be very distracting!

I would like to add one tip of my own too...I keep a flash drive with me at all times...so when I am at the office and I have a "ding" moment I write it in a word doc and save it for later.

I keep my mini hard drive with me and always have personal pics, recipes etc if I need them or want to share!

Another great Health Blog Help!

I do something similar (I even use the same pen!), but there are a few additional suggestions I would make:

My philosophy for what to write in my notebook is anything that is interesting or important enough to remember. This can include simple things like ideas for blog posts, but it also includes any good thoughts or quotes I come across. I also write down words or concepts I am not familiar with so I can look them up later.

Instead of the text file, I use a blog that only I have access to in which I enter all my notes. I think this works better than a text file because I can tag posts to make them more easily searchable.

It is important that the notebook and pen be easily accessible at all times. In other words, don't store your notebook in one pocket of your bag and your pen in another. Have your pen attached to your notebook and keep them not in a bag, but in your hand or right next to you wherever you are, including by your bed. You will quickly get fed up with notebooking if it is not extremely quick and convenient.

I have found that I have had way too many blog ideas than I have time to blog about them, so once a week I have a post with "squibs from the notebook" where I empty out some of the most interesting or important ideas in short spurts.

Notebooking is absolutely one of the best things you can do for yourself, and I am trying hard to get my loved ones to follow along.
